Analytical Edge
Analytical Edge was established in 1999 to provide a source of assistance for circuit engineers and layout designers in solving high-speed design problems on printed circuit boards (PCBs). Since then it has helped engineers and designers in many companies in Europe and North America to understand the issues and solve the problems of high-speed PCB design, i.e. maintain signal integrity and minimise EMI.

This assistance is primarily through the development and delivery of short training courses geared to the needs of practising engineers and designers. These focus on developing an understanding of the effects of fast devices driving signals through PCB tracks and circuit components, interacting with neighbouring circuits, and radiating energy.

Course author and presenter
Robert Easson, the author and frequent presenter of these courses, brings many years’ experience of design engineering, technology and engineering management both with companies involved in microwave, RF and telecommunications engineering and also as an independent consultant in the electronics industry.

For the last nine years Robert has specialised in developing and delivering courses on high-speed PCB design and EMC - to date over 1000 delegates in Europe and North America have attended these courses. Robert has a BSc in physics and a PhD in engineering, both from the University of Glasgow, and is qualified as a Chartered Engineer and MIET.
